Teel Auctions Sells Former Wind Gap Municipal, Public Works and Police Complex for $255,000

The land and buildings that formerly housed the Borough of Wind Gap’s municipal offices, public works and police department were auctioned by Teel Auctions on Saturday, July 31, 2021 for $255,000.

“We wish the new owner great success in redeveloping this well-known location and we thank the Borough of Wind Gap for the opportunity to market and sell this property,” Auctioneer Robert Teel said. “Once again, auctions have proven to be a transparent and competitive way to sell significant assets, including real estate.”

The property, consisting of two parcels at 29 Mechanic Street and 125 Water Street, was sold as one to a local bidder. The minimum bid auction drew multiple bidders. In 2015, the Borough of Wind Gap moved to new municipal headquarters at 545 East West Street.

As part of the sale, two spaces in the parking lot will be reserved for local businesses. The successful bidder has 45 days to close on the sale.
